Started watching Frieren with my Dad tonight. Unsurprisingly, he loves it. We did the whole "maybe on more episode?" thing three times haha

It reminds him of the old TTRPG groups he was in decades ago, fantasy novels he read when he was young, and a few other anime series we've seen together

We're through episode 8 now as well. We snuck some in this morning since my Dad has the day off work for my Mum's birthday, and she was still in bed.

Also, we're watching the dub, because I like good dubs and this dub is frankly astonishingly good.

I enjoyed that one a lot but weirdly I like many other parts of the series more than I do the direct confrontations like the primary one in that episode. I appreciate greatly that the series focuses on so many things besides just combat or magical confrontation.

We just finished episode 8 now though!

Yeah, the latest few are all very introspective episodes, and I do like that about the series. But I also enjoyed ep 10 because aside from it being a very cool scene, it was sort of a way to say "demons aren't really going to be the antagonists here, that's not the kind of story we're writing."
