I'm an amateur illustrator who'd like to someday do that whole "art" thing for a living. In the meantime, I'm hyperfixated on Monster Hunter, Mega Man, polearms, and probably several other things. Also aspiring to become an IRL amalgamation of leading ladies from Professor Layton games (officially girlpilled since 3/25/2023!!).

The Resistance emblem from Mega Man Zero in the colors of the trans pride flag.

"Lives with plenty of food and comfort... People have stopped bothering to think with their heads... There may still be some people who want to do something. If we could somehow let those kinds of people know what Dr. Weil is really thinking... We might be able to change Neo Arcadia."  -Ciel, Mega Man Zero 3

(okay look I know it's actually Volt Kraken and not Squid Adler but the joke flows better this way shhhh)

It's bothered me for a while how we're told there are non-maverick therianthropic reploids in the X series, and yet they almost never show up as allies (or at least non-enemies). There are apparently, like, two in Command Mission, but that's not a lot, one of them is basically dead, and it's set in an AU anyway (though the setting hasn't changed enough to totally invalidate... this guy, a fucking platypus, who is apparently the only animal-like reploid to be allied with the Maverick Hunters and not go maverick, which is kinda sad when you think about it). There are also never any Mýthos Reploids in the Zero series who turn on Neo Arcadia and serve as allies to the Resistance; there are a few characters who do [spoilers for MMZ3 and MMZ4, hover to view (apologies to mobile users)], but none of them are therianthropic. There are a few mavericks in the X series who went maverick without being infected with the maverick virus, and some who even used to be Maverick Hunters, but they're still only ever faced as bosses.

So bearing that in mind, given that the setting I'm working on draws so heavily from the reploid-centric eras of Mega Man for inspiration, I figured this would be a good opportunity to have therianthropic anthropoids (or "therianthropoids") serving as allies, not enemies. This particular anthropoid isn't really anything specific, moreso just spitballing what an octopus-based therianthropoid might look like, and what their role might be.
