I'm an amateur illustrator who'd like to someday do that whole "art" thing for a living. In the meantime, I'm hyperfixated on Monster Hunter, Mega Man, polearms, and probably several other things. Also aspiring to become an IRL amalgamation of leading ladies from Professor Layton games (officially girlpilled since 3/25/2023!!).

The Resistance emblem from Mega Man Zero in the colors of the trans pride flag.

"Lives with plenty of food and comfort... People have stopped bothering to think with their heads... There may still be some people who want to do something. If we could somehow let those kinds of people know what Dr. Weil is really thinking... We might be able to change Neo Arcadia."  -Ciel, Mega Man Zero 3

The first and third images here are actually relatively old, from around the time of this post, but I recently refined the designs.

Some design notes:

Her axe is first and foremost based on the traditional Irish style of two-handed axe blade (sometimes referred to as a sparr or sparth axe, which I'm given to understand isn't entirely accurate, mostly just in the sense that it can refer to a lot of types of two-handed axe and not just this style), but it borrows a lot of functionality from the pollaxe as well, with an energy dague and an exhaust that can focus energy into a bec de faucon when needed (or act as a small propulsion device for harder hits, like the earlier design). The queue spike is triangular (probably, might change it) to aid in puncturing metal, getting right up in wires and such, and then sapping power out. Probably not safe to do IRL, but it seemed like a neat idea to me. I might alternatively have it serve as another buster cannon/energy spearhead, since pollaxe fighting stances often place the weapon queue-forward, with the head kind of over the shoulder, almost.
The idea for the cannon on the head of the axe being shaped like a buster cannon from Mega Man came to me once I noticed I was basically turning the barrel into the barrel of Proto Man's buster, and then I had the idea for the yellow pips thingy a lot of MM buster have to be turned into an exhaust port, and for it to double as a pick.

As for her sword - first off, I should note that since I'm leaning more into her Irish heritage (or her original body's Irish heritage, anyway), I'm probably giving her cinquedea-inspired dagger-sword to a different character and instead planning to give her something a little more concealable for her civilian-wear dagger. As far as her sword, though, it's meant to evoke ring-pommel Irish swords by using that dial-wheel-thing for its cord in the pommel's design.
Purely by coincidence, the second iteration's blade and grip length combined are similar to the total length of a historical scian found in the River Shannon (~24-inch blade, ~4-inch grip; the dagger in question totals 28 inches in length), though structurally it's much more of a typical arming sword than a scian, being double-edged, having a crossguard and a wheel pommel, etc. I've been listing weapons as "HF blades" since it's convenient to borrow another settings terms until I come up with my own (in this case Metal Gear, and there's also "buster" via Mega Man), but I should probably figure out something more original at some point, I reckon.
The longsword form having the blade split apart to it can emit a beam is inspired by the Monado from Xenoblade, since I recently installed a mod for MHR that replaces a switch axe with the Monado I. I'm thinking I might like to have part of the guard flip out to become longer, though I need to figure out the logistics of that.

Transcripts below:

First image (axe 1)

  • heated (pointing to axe blade)
  • beam dague? (pointing to energy spike emitted from top of weapon)
  • rocket, but also good as a bludgeon (pointing to hammer-like protrusion opposite axe head)
  • octagonal haft
  • color...? (pointing to haft)
  • physical dague? (next to small drawing of the weapon with a tangible spearhead)
    • plug to siphon power??? (next to crossed-out and unfinished concept of a plug-like spearhead)
  • power source???
  • maybe 1 offset, like bayonet? (next to two-pronged and one-pronged versions of a butt-spike)

Second image (axe 2)

  • Irish styled axe head
  • buster cannon at head (can be used as a dague)
  • Exhaust can be focused into a bec de faucon (of sorts)
    • can also offer some propulsion
    • shaped like an MM buster cannon (pointing to a rear view of the axe head, with the exhaust port facing the viewer)
  • heated blade more effective vs. heavily armored troops (pointing to axe blade)
  • has batteries, but can also siphon power from sorXa through the haft
  • octagonal haft (next to cross-section of haft)
  • slightly shorter than sorXa (next to small sketch of sorXa holding the axe)
  • way to offend w/ butt like a pollaxe? (pointing to the weapon's queue. which is currently unadorned)
    • leeching spike? (saps power)
    • triangle for better penetration

Third image (sword 1)

Fourth image (sword 2)

  • simplified to show offset (accompanying diagrams showing how the two halves of the blade overlap)
  • ~24 in. HF blade (next to 1-handed mode; HF being "high frequency", à la Metal Gear)
  • ~4 in. grip (probably a bit longer in practice, like 4.5" or maybe even longer; not counting the pommel, mind you)
  • meant to evoke ring pommel (accompanied by a small sketch of an actual ring pommel, with the blade's tang visible through the ring)
  • energy longsword (next to 2-handed mode)
  • scabbard (next to square-bottomed scabbard, in the Irish style, with a late medieval hanging system shown)
