If I am Paying Money1 to use a kind of software I have extremely high standards for it. One of the things that ticked me off so much about XBL in the 360 era was that it was unreliable and I was forced to pay monthly for it, in an era where that was not a hard requirement across all platforms.
Conversely, I think I am very happy and willing to put up with, or more often learn, various linux bullshittery because it's Not Windows and thus is worth my effort. Not just because of monetary reasons, but because it's built on a not insignificant amount of volunteer effort and is, conceptually, less shitty. 2
Sorry for burying the lead. Cohost is not a perfect website on a technical level but I am so so so so so so so so so so so willing to put up with an annoying thing here or there, given the context of how it exists and how long it's existed. Personally, the things that actively give me issues are almost 0 so I also have the benefit of just having not hit a lot of the problems others have. But I'd very happily take a slightly buggy website, still actively being developed and improved, run by good people, over a bug free Microsoft Posts.
And when people talk about giving up on the website because of a bug or two, it's a real bad look on them for me personally. Sorry.

Like, required to pay. Not voluntarily paying. I'll also include software and services that I know are doing a LOT of data collection in exchange for whatever they do in this.

Don't tell me about how you like windows, I do Not care. Not the point of this post.
