I'm an amateur illustrator who'd like to someday do that whole "art" thing for a living. In the meantime, I'm hyperfixated on Monster Hunter, Mega Man, polearms, and probably several other things. Also aspiring to become an IRL amalgamation of leading ladies from Professor Layton games (officially girlpilled since 3/25/2023!!).

The Resistance emblem from Mega Man Zero in the colors of the trans pride flag.

"Lives with plenty of food and comfort... People have stopped bothering to think with their heads... There may still be some people who want to do something. If we could somehow let those kinds of people know what Dr. Weil is really thinking... We might be able to change Neo Arcadia."  -Ciel, Mega Man Zero 3

In Mega Man X8, the major recurring cast members got redesigns, but in promotional materials and crossovers since then, all of them seem to have been reverted to earlier designs... with the exception of Alia, who has kept her redesign even for things like X DiVE. For some reason this bothered me, but I couldn't quite explain why - it's not like it's a bad design (in fact she's still pretty cute!), and I'm not overly attached to the X series characters since I only ever played X1 (I'm much more of a Mega Man Zero kinda gal, and to a lesser extent a big ZX fan as well) so it's not like my brain is just rejecting change because it's not used to this design, either. But nevertheless, compared to her X5/6/7 design, there's just something... missing? Like, look at her!!!

aaaaaa she's so fucking pretty!!!!! :host-love: :host-love: :host-love:

But then earlier today, in the shower, I was thinking about the various ladies of the Mega Man franchise1 and it occurred to me that, for what may be the first time ever, Alia is a character where I genuinely feel more inclined to answer the age-old transbian question "Do I want to be with her, or do I want to be her?" with "I want to be her."2 My problem with her X8 design isn't that it looks bad (because it doesn't), it's that I don't look at that version of her and think to myself "damn, that's gender as fuck". That rolled bun thing she has going on? Gender as fuck. Those long bangs? Gender as fuck. The separated boob plate things?... Okay, maybe that's not quite "gender as fuck", but I'm not gonna pretend it's not at least slightly gender :host-plead:

But then her researcher design from a flashback in X6?

Gender as fuuuuuuuuck~

Gender as fuuuuuuuuck~

  1. Specifically the robot and reploid ladies (i.e. gynoids), in the context of maybe making a "You like robot girls because you want to fuck one. I like robot girls because I want to be one. We are not the same." image macro, but accompanied by a disclaimer that I do, in fact, also want to fuck robot girls. Plum, Layer, Nana, Leviathan, Joan/Jaune, Rouge, and, if you count humanoids from ZX, Atlas3 all activate my neurons something fierce, lemme tell ya :host-love:
  2. That's not to say I wouldn't date someone who looks like pre-X8 Alia, mind you, just that I'd rather be the one who looks like her, if I had a choice. Fiorayne from MonHun has started to drift close since I realized I'm a girl, but there's also still very much a part of me that wants her to take me out to dinner :host-plead:
  3. Yes, I know sorXa (who I would rather be than be with, which actually wasn't intentional when I was designing her, but all things considered I should have expected it) looks a hell of a lot like Atlas, but for some reason, setting aside that Atlas kinda sucks as a person, she's not in full-on gender envy territory the way pre-X8 Alia is.
