You know what I love about engines that aren't unity?

I just bought Submachine: Legacy, one of my fav point and click games I've ever played, and when I finished it I went into the files of the game itself and bam

All the assets just sitting there. Over 4000 hand drawn pieces of art for me to look at. Don't gotta unpack shit don't gotta spend time fiddling with decryption it's just there for me to go OOOOO at. And if for some reason I wanted to mod it, all the files are sitting right there

Makes me happy. Makes me feel like when I bought a game I actually got to see the pieces that make it up. I hate that games don't do this and I love it when they do. I know that like, there's reasons to not let players modify all your shit but those reasons are Dumb I think putting it all out there rules

I bought Submachine: Legacy from your recommendation and have been enjoying it quite a bit so far. I was hoping for something to scratch the itch after The Da Vinci series of puzzle games failed to fill the The Room shaped hole in my heart, and this is doing nicely.
