The Hanshin Tigers baseball team has won its first Japan Series in almost 40 years. A reminder that there was going to be a Hanshin Tigers baseball game for the Super Famicom, Mouko Densetsu '95: Hanshin Tigers, to be published by the Bandai subsidiary Angel. It never came out, perhaps a victim of "The Curse of the Colonel". We may never know.
A blog post about the game can be found here. A demo version was apparently supposed to be distributed via Satellaview, but that may not have actually happened. A debugger wrote in and confirmed that the game was developed by Arc System Works. That makes sense, since sound designer Katsuhiro Hayashi worked on it.
Someone on Twitter found a prototype last year, then it mysteriously vanished from the face of the earth.
