Soooo, Devil Engine...

After some long-running developer/publisher drama that gave way to additional intra-developer drama that I'm not qualified to fully recount, the expansion DLC Devil Engine Ignition was finally released this week. As advertised on the Steam page, this includes new arranged tracks from Shinji Hosoe, Loser Kashiwagi (CHO REN SHA 68K), Hyakutaro Tsukumo (original composer of the track embedded above), and at least one unadvertised remix from cohost's own @heavyviper (see my last rebug, or just click here). None of this music seems to be for sale on its own anywhere yet.

The track embedded here, a fantastic arrangement of "Cosmo Babylon" from Technosoft's Hyper Duel, was part of the initial soundtrack release way back in 2019. That release also included a few tracks from Tsukumo himself, as well as guest tracks from Mason Lieberman and Tristan Chapman. It was pulled from Steam and Bandcamp in 2021 after the dev drama came to a head, but at least composer Joseph Bailey was able to list his original 17 tracks on his personal bandcamp.

If you're at all interested in the base game's soundtrack, I implore you to support him directly by purchasing the soundtrack from bandcamp and not from the Steam page. The current publisher relisted the soundtrack there earlier this year without permission from Bailey and, as far as I can tell, he will see no profits from either the sale of the game, its expansion or the soundtrack DLC.

Also hey, click here Here's the guest tracks from the 2019 release to go with your bandcamp purchase
