The Contra: Operation Galuga soundtrack is out on streaming services today, a week ahead of the full game's release. Also surprising: the two main composers are Yuko Komiyama (Rockman X7/X8/Command Mission, FF Pixel Remasters IV-VI, and too many Monster Hunters) and Norihiko Hibino (Metal Gear Solid 2/3, Bayonetta 1-3). Eirik Suhrke (Spelunky, Downwell) provides the familiar Contra title screen sting heard at the front of the linked preview video.

Along with the main soundtrack is a separate album, "Retro Remix". This might be more your speed if, like me, the rather generic symphonic synth MGS2 alert style themes don't meld with your idea of what a Contra soundtrack should be. There doesn't seem to be any info yet on who arranged these tracks. Both of these albums will also be out on CD eventually, in Japan as part of the recently announced 10-disc "MUSIC from CONTRA" boxset coming out in May, and in North America as part of LRG's deluxe edition of the game.

The "Retro Remix" extra soundtrack is unlocked in Operation Galuga by having Contra Anniversary Collection save data, and there's two additional Castlevania and Konami-related full-game soundtracks by having Castlevania Anniversary and Arcade Anniversary data. They can also be earned after beating the main game, too.
