A few years ago, on a whim, I searched Craigslist for "Genie Pinball". And found a hit. About 1.5 hours drive away from me, and available for a song practically.

I so, so, SO wanted to buy that table right then and there. I sadly had to be more practical than whimsical, though. Space for such a table is an issue - not to mention how I'd even transport it. Also, for the price, it was in rather rough shape, with damage to the backglass...

Perhaps in some mythical future where I actually own a home and have time to restore a pinball table, I'll be able to finally own one! (Though honestly, in this economy? I have a better shot of becoming a full fledged genie before that!)

It feels like a lifetime ago since I touched and played with a real, actual pinball machine. I find myself missing them again now that you've brought it up <3

I'll keep wishing, in that case... Maybe I'll luck out and both will be granted!

Oh, and I know what you mean. You know, there have been some pretty decent advances made in virtual pinball tables lately, too. They use haptics and visual tricks to provide a pretty decent illusion. Some companies are even making rather space saving versions, too! Maybe if we can't get the real thing, a decent simulation is at hand.
