ok had an odd dream that i think might be a solid basis for some kinda game or something.
I was stranded on some distant planet. there were other people there, but they spoke a language I didn't recognize. we eventually managed to cobble together a crude sort of communication.
in addition to people, the planet was inhabited by sort of pokemon esque creatures/monsters. the designs were indistinct in the way everything in a dream is, sadly.
the people on this planet made their living by hunting these creatures and collecting the crystals they dropped when defeated which they then sold to offworlders. (kind of reminding me of slime rancher in retrospect).
the catch, however, is that the monsters only dropped these crystal things following combat with another monster. you couldnt just gun the things down or whatever.
the real twist on this whole scenario is that, for some reason, i could turn into one. obviously, this makes it very convenient for collecting those crystals.
I do remember being concerned that the transformation seemed to last longer each time. Like, "what if it became permentant" kind of concern.
Additionally, the planet inhabitants were concerned about the sustainability of harvesting and selling all those crystal things. Potential conflict there too, reminding me of Iconoclasts.
Anyway, I probably won't act on this but if I do, I'd have to figure out how far I'd wanna turn the tf/petplay dials
you know what maybe ill actually expand on this sometime.
Ive been meaning to steal the personality test from dragon quest 3 and the one from the PMD series. maybe i could synthesize these ideas together
