Looking forward to having Cohost as an ios phone app! It would help with my need to look at something while I am waiting. I suppose I could try bringing it up on the browser on my phone.

I just want to have a convenient way to post more!

I want to help this community grow! 😩

Interesting, the progressive webapp version works really well for me on my iPhone SE, presumably because Cohost intentionally lacks the features that make other sites work poorly like that on my phone (infinite scroll in particular)

You can install Cohost’s progressive web app version by opening the site in Safari, opening the share menu (the box w/an arrow coming out of it), and hitting “add to Home Screen”

That’ll give you the ability to use it like a regular app, with multitasking/Spotlight/etc. working like you’d expect, without Cohost needing to submit to Apple’s content policies or continually support an app in addition to the web. (If a site wanted to, PWAs also support being used offline and sending push notifications, but Cohost doesn’t use either of these)

i think the "point" (if you could call it that) in it being a web app is that you don't need as much people-power to maintain. i think a better thing to look forward to is the open api stuff that is definitely coming, which means that it's gonna be easier for people to make things that interact with cohost, and thus, apps and stuff (from 3rd parties). i don't think i would actually want an app that comes from ASSC, i feel like it'd "miss the point," but there will definitely be an app One Day™.
