I think Sony should remake the PS-F9 Flamingo record player and use good components. They'd sell a bajillion units just based on how cool it looks.
edit: I should say this one's unobtanium nowdays and even if you find one it'll be for a stupid high price, because look at it. Incredibly collectable devices.
from what I remember yeah, it had some pretty neat features like letting you skip through tracks. I can't tell you much more from memory though I can recommend the excellent Techmoan video on it
