lmao the new Patreon logo is so bad. patreon is definitely going out of business, there's no question, these are the flailings of execs who have convinced themselves that there's no future for the company. fucking love it, great

imagine fucking up what amounts to an arterial toll bridge enough to make it fail because it wasn't making enough free money

having had the timeline of investor money going in laid out next to the timelines of dumb feature changes and of when they got a massive growth boost from covid lockdowns, the situation does look pretty bad

You know, I'm getting really tired of companies that make a great product we all wanted that no one has yet to fill, only for years later the company goes public and suddenly profit and growth is their only motive. I hate the route that apps like Discord are going through, trying to find new ways to make money as the app and other systems the surround it suffer from unaddressed issues and bugs that have been there for years. It's like no company wants to be stable anymore. They just wanna keep taking blind risks to grow, then wonder why they went bankrupt when they didn't listen or care for their customers. I know this is kinda a different topic than the new Patreon logo, but when a company you like changes their logo and it looks bad, it feels like a red flag that the company is run by executives rather than people who actually know the product they run.
