That post about how gorgeous the Castlevania DS game are had me thinking about the singular greatest track in the entire series, belonging to Harmony of Dissonance on the GBA. I need you to understand that I did not edit this in any way, it just sounds like this in game.

in reply to @tyreforhyre's post:

the bizarre way the merchant works in this game, and the consequent fact that it's possible to get through an entire play through without ever actually seeing the guy ever because you don't meet any of the conditions for him to appear, makes this track a perfect application for the "what the hell is going on" feeling. literally who is this dude and why is he suddenly here. in multiple places. which one is the real merchant. is the merchant even real. there is no merchant in this game. what do you mean, i found him like 4 times. he's right here. he's not right here. the room is empty. my wallet is mysteriously lighter and i have slightly better gloves.

this is an anthem of confusion.
