hi i am a programmer, self taught C++ 15 years ago at age 13 and experienced in Python, I am familiar with Godot and was a Gameplay Programming Intern for Insomniac Games. I worked on Marvel's Wolverine and had a few lines of code (and was credited) in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. I have a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Oregon State University and a B.Sc. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics from University of Oregon.
i love game dev, especially games that focus on telling impactful, inspiring stories. my interests stretch beyond just game dev though - i love data analysis and number crunching, and whatever i end up doing, i would like it to be something that improves people's lives, especially if it is a legitimate use of technology to improve the relationship between people and the environment.
i've also done back end work for OpenPrinting, helping to modernize a lot of their website code and create scripts to help automate creating printer driver packages.
my strongest skill is just how quickly i can learn. in my freshman year of high school, i self taught calculus all the way up to vector calculus. i then continued that self teaching up through at least a decent, if not professional, understanding of the mathematics of general relativity and quantum field theory by my senior year of high school. i even re-discovered a few mathematical tools like the exponential map just by playing around.
in addition to programming, i also do some light video editing work. there are well over a thousand videos on my YouTube channel (OniLinkPlusLP) with varying levels of editing applied to them. while my editing work is relatively light thus far, i would be ecstatic to have the excuse to learn more video editing tools and techniques if needed if someone would like to hire me for video editing work instead.
if anyone has leads or offers of work, you can contact me at vi.kurtz@protonmail.com. i am down for freelance work or more long term work! i am more than willing to discuss rates as well!
