“I want to learn Japanese eventually but…”
stop you are doing a thought crime, you will never learn anything with this mindset, the best time to start learning Japanese is right now, there are public libraries and community colleges likely in your area to get you started, if you think you’re bad at learning a new writing system that is far removed from the language you currently speak, you are also wrong, learning Japanese is all about mindset and attitude, you must understand you are capable of learning anything, and language has nothing to do with intelligence, even dumbest baby learns Japanese easily (joke), but anyway, if you want to learn Japanese you simply have to start learning it, hiragana is the memory code to learning Japanese so start there, then you will easily understand, I personally mastered reading hiragana and katakana in a few hours but your mileage may vary, I learned to memorize the entire kana writing system and stroke order for handwriting both sets in two weeks at school, I recommend writing hiragana chart 3000 times at least while voicing the sounds, here is great video to get you started https://youtu.be/JQPajpHt_Jc?si=C28CTCbwxXl5YzI6
Once you start learning basic grammar, like how to say what you did and where you went in a day , JOURNAL DAILY BY HAND, write that shit out by hand!!!
That is Ruby tip 1
