I am beyond delighted to share my interview with the one and only Joe Hisaishi, composer for every Miyazaki film since Nausicaa. Having viewed a near final cut of The Boy and the Heron for the first time just a year before its theatrical release, Miyazaki left him with just a few words. The result: a minimal composition in step with the wonders of Miyazaki’s fantasy and a fitting cadence for their collaboration.
