Against all odds, I have returned from vacation, which means it's time to make a quick update and get things rolling again. Where did I go, you ask? Well...you can see for yourself. I had a great time and I would definitely go back given another chance, but that's a story for another time.

In content related news, this week we'll be tackling MQ Forest and MQ Fire, with a look at a DK hack called ANEsdk2. I know I keep saying Baten Kaitos is soon but it's on my to-do list for today, which should translate to doing commentary this weekend and then hopefully next week videos. Tentative schedule looks like MQ Water, ANEsdk2, and Baten Kaitos on Friday but I'm not going to commit to that until I actually get some videos made. Worst case, we do MQ BotW for Friday and resume Baten Kaitos after that.

In other news, been playing through P4 Golden and FE Engage while I was on vacation and like...fucking yikes if everything related to Kanji and Naoto hasn't aged terribly. I kind of expected it, but I haven't seriously played P4 since it was released on the Vita and while I still like it the most of the three modern Personas, it's pretty rough in places. Engage, on the other hand, is by far the best FE from a gameplay perspective since Radiant Dawn, but I would be lying if I said that it didn't feel like it was missing something. I'm up to Chapter 17 and it's...fine. The plot can be seen from a million miles away and it's paper-thin, but to be honest I think I would rather have that in comparison to whatever the Three Houses Discourse™ was. I really appreciate how much it stripped back the skill system, and the fact that it actually has some teeth on Hard without being absolute horseshit like the Lunatic/Maddening difficulties of old is a big point in its favor. It feels like the guys who made Sacred Stones came back and made another one, but no one told them about all the stuff that happened in the last 15 years with the series, and I'm here for it.
