oh right I actually thought of a lot more at the time. It went something like:
Avast, a mast I be
I stand up like a tree
Amidst the deck, as you'd expect when sailing on the sea
The joke was going to be that the music exec I'm pitching it to would interrupt, and I'd just steamroll over them with more, like:
"I don't really see how this is relevant to--"
"Hi diddle diddle, the mizzen's the middle, and that's where a mizzenmast stands!"
Except! Although mizzen does mean middle etymologically, that is not how mizzenmast is defined - it's the mast next aft of the main mast, which often means it's the aftmost one. Fucked up if you ask me!
