oh god I completed it
This got a bit long so putting it below the Read More re: my pink-haired gal there and name stuff.
That pink-haired panda was named Yuria. I renamed her Miin since I want to use her more, and just in case other Fellowship: To Winter's End things happen I thought up a quick story about her changing names after the last episode.
So, her name actually comes from Anishinaabemowin, a language associated with a number of North American indigenous folk, of which Ojibwe is one. This is not the first time I did this, I actually got the idea when I named my Under the Neighborhood character Kara Waabooz. Waabooz is the Anishinaabe word for rabbit, playing in to how I never do subtle at all. Likewise, Miin stands for a singular blueberry (Miinan is when you have multiple).
... so why is the pink one named after a blueberry and the blue-haired one is Pepper?
... look don't worry about it. And don't worry about the fact their hair is also trans colors I wish I was that clever and had foresight.
