I have been sending applications out for over a year now and mostly just getting ghosted. would very much like to not feel like I'm throwing this stuff out into the void.
I don't know how to list my background concisely but I'll try: my computer programming and database design/admin work has spanned a lot of different tech, and I know a good number of languages (would prefer working in Rust or Python, but can also do C/C++, Java, JavaScript, etc). I've done both research and game related code, as well as full-stack work on web projects.
my interest in astrophysics is getting louder lately, for something specific, and I've been catching up on literature there when I can. part of this is pouring into a project I have for making consistent night skies, including local stars to our own sun using the SKY2000 catalog. (maybe posting the code repo for that as I get it beyond just its foundations could be worth doing?)
I've wanted to do work on social network software for a good while, also. things seem to be breaking apart, there, and having better options (such as cohost itself) that co-exist is something I really want to see in the world, but I can't do that on my own.
