I really have to reconceptualise how I recruit for games. My whole concept of having a shortlist is something I just don’t want to deal with when it means holding onto people who I wasn’t sure enough to include in the game to keep in touch with or be ghosted by. My screening isn’t intensive enough, either, but the flow of applicants is a lot. I think I’ll just take the first wave of applicants and not try to recoup the numbers unless there’s a gun to my head
My true objective in all this is to filter out the onrush of hyper competitive dudebros, but the application format is like coke to them and a repellant to minoritised players who aren’t sure they’re going to be accepted. I need to go back to the drawing board on this and figure out what I’m trying to accomplish
