Roger and Me (1989) is really interesting inasmuch as seeing a younger and more sedate Michael Moore. the sarcasm is so dry it's like sandpaper, i mean this positively. he's just a innocent little guy from Flint Michigan wanting to see Roger Smith (extreme bitterness about the onset of neoliberalism)

no i'm not really a michael moore head. i'm watching this for class. i've seen a few of his docs when i was younger, but it's nice to see his bit before, y'know, everyone knows his bit, he knows his bit, and it descends into an almost self parody. the man just gets people to talk and you understand the underlying operant logics at play which killed thousands of jobs dead while tricking the jobless into thinking they're owed nothing for the loss
