Update: the prof's talking with the department head. I'm not big on retributive justice, so I'm not thrilled about what will happen to this guy. Something tells me this wasn't the first time this person has acted out like this

I'm not being smarmy with the "screenwriting majors are busted" thing, btw. I've been in that program for three years abouts. It is designed to pick favourites and haze the rest. I changed my majors to what I have now, knowing screenwriting at York was neither a safe program for me nor going to provide the professional develop it insists it provides (which is possible, but again, they're grooming favourites and I was the opposite of that). The people who've drank that koolade are even more dangerous, and this was a rare literal example of that danger.

He was a person carrying a lot of pain, and seeing someone willingly walk away from that hurt must have sparked something in him. Forgetting he wasn't in a class exclusive to screenwriting majors didn't do his bullying any favours. I do hope I never have another run in with him, though. Some dudes from class rocked by offering to hang out while we had lunch, and I realised it was probably to make sure I was fine until the guy went to another class or got on the TTC. I'm not scared of violence when it's someone wanting me to swing first, since that's not in my nature, but unrestrained harassment is a horse of a different colour.
