For anyone missing alt text on the photo: A photo of a newspaper article with a photo of Choo Shin-soo holding a plate of bulgogi, extending chopsticks towards the camera with a piece of beef between them. Accompanying text: "Hi, I'm Choo Shin-soo. I'm an outfielder for the Texas Rangers. Spring's here and I'm ready to play! And do you know what got me through training? Bulgogi. Try some at your favourite Korean restaurant. It's delicious!"

the time I came across a blog post by Haylee Belt, the wife of (then) SF Giants' first baseman, Brandon Belt.

I love to cook, so I’m always happy when Brandon can eat at home. Usually he eats at the clubhouse after games because Joe, the chef, is so great. When I do cook, Brandon usually wants chicken spaghetti, a dish his mom taught me to make. It’s noodles, shredded chicken, Velveeta, cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup and Ro-Tel diced tomatoes. It’s sooooo good.

I can kind of imagine the combination, and why it would be comfort food if someone grew up eating it, but also it's one of the times that the words "food desert" popped into my head.

Just not a lot left in the tank. But my partner took me out for lunch to a local cafe. They have seasonal sandwiches and toasties on the menu, so I had a chicken, stuffing and cranberry sauce toastie. Which was like a Boxing Day sarnie, but toasted, plus featuring the much more flavourful fowl than turkey. And then we got some sweet treats to takeaway, so I've got a wedge of banana bread for later. I'll prob eat it around 4pm with some pu'er tea, or maybe a decaf coffee, when I have my usual blood sugar crash.

So at least today is going well.
