I wanted to ride the Shinkansen somewhere, and I chose Fuji for no particular reason. While it was nice to see something different, it's certainly a car-scale place. I'd made the decision that I wasn't going to get into a car at all for my trip, so there was a lot of walking through suburban-style streets involved.
