Hi I'm just kinda freaking out at the moment so please excuse the odd question...

Am I just weirdly protective about my stuff? I generally don't let anybody touch my phone or computer. They're such personal devices nowadays with so much of our lives saved on them.

I don't mean just like showing a picture or letting someone make a call. But a situation like not too long ago where a friend grabbed my phone right out of my hands and started doing unknown things. When I try to discuss how that make me feel almost violated, I get treated like I'm trying to hide something.

Or someone going onto my computer at work and sending a message in Teams to another coworker.

Same holds true for physical spaces too. Had a friend visit and go into my bedroom and go through my stuff. Expressed my discomfort and again get treated like I'm an asshole and clearly have something to hide.

There is probably only one person who I've ever been completely comfortable with letting into my life like that, and they aren't in my life anymore.

Maybe I am just too protective? But I would never go through another person's stuff without explicit permission... Is it too much to ask the same of other people?
