1.1.0 helps with performance quite a bit, but I really hope they can fully patch out most of the jank over the next few months, because this is EASILY the best Pokémon Gen since 2 (Gold/Silver) or 5 (Black/White).

Every time I see a funny clip during a battle there’s a sick bassline playing and I love it.

the reverence for Get 5 confuses me a bit as a lapsed Pokemon fan. I played Gens 1-7, and Gen 5 was easily my least favorite of the bunch. My main memories of Gen 5 are
it ran terribly on my DS
as someone who always picks fire type, being very annoyed about getting a 3rd fire/fighting starter in a row, especially since they made the Gen 5 one stand out by making it slow and bulky
being extremely disappointed at the pushover Elite 4, especially when measured against Cynthia and the rest of Gen 4's Elite 4
If you're willing to explain, I'd love to know why you and so many other people really love it.

Paradoxically, I think I'm really losing something playing this (my first Pokemon game in... maybe 15 years) at the same time as my fiance. She has the TV, so I hear her audio, but I turn my audio off on my little Switch Lite. It makes the game's little pauses feel like they're dragging out, since it pauses for little audio stings, and I'm disconnected from the audio.
