Besides the usual stuff about Eva being the First Ever Mecha Anime about Teens With PTSD, once I saw someone say Metal Gear Solid was one big Eva reference because it had a funicular.
Mech Pilot who refers to the communication antennae of their mech as the “antlers.”
Despite my frustrations with the kit’s engineering and color separation, I can’t deny that the actual shape of the thing looks pretty damn good.
The Ingram has a lot of little design language that make it look sleek, but in the way a real world technical machine would be sleek. More PC Engine than sport’s car.
I plan to do some spot painting and panel lining when I finally get this thing all together. My theory is that I can just use primer for most of the detailing, because it sticks well when brushed on in all of my tests so far.
Anyway, it’s actually looking like something now and that makes me happy.
