Yeh, it captures the feeling of the memory and lets you luxuriate in it! My favorite VRChat worlds are that way, providing an interpretive filter for shared IRL experiences
It seems like they go for different flavors of nostalgia! The other one is a dark and dingy public space in a way I remember IRL malls feeling back in my youzh, this one mixes vaporwave iconography with other things to evoke a crass consumer enthusiasm
