BOO! It's October! To go along with the sudden and terrifying passage of time, we've got a new set of events lined up on the server for everyone's favorite month:
Game Club
Finally free of the loop, we're playing the decidedly less dramatic Grimm's Hollow (ghosthunter, 2019). Nothing says fall like an otherworldly RPG maker game.
Movie Club
Haunting the server over the next few weeks are a selection of classic and cult classic horror movies: on the 2nd we'll be visited by Pulse (Kiyoshi Kurosawa, 2001), on the 9th we camp out with The Blair Witch Project (Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez, 1999), and on the 16th we get Unfriended (Levan Gabriadze, 2014). Keep your EMF meter close.
I'm also participating in Hooptober this year so there will be numerous surprise horror movie nights throughout the month (join our horror thread to keep up).
Book Club
If you get too scared with all the fall horrors, take a breather as we begin our next months long manga series: Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (Hitoshi Ashinano, 1994-2006). What's a few ghosts when you're a robot in the post-apocalypse?
Anime Crimes
Though yet to be scheduled, some Sunday this month we'll be returning to our normal anime format, beginning with the three part OVA, Gunsmith Cats (Takeshi Mori, 1995-1996). I don't think this has anything to do with Halloween, I just want to see what anime Chicago is like.
And as a reminder, we our continuing our Final Fantasy XIII long play. This month we'll get through chapters 5 and 6 (I'm definitely caught up and ready to go)
