Some people wanted some writing prompts. I can maybe come up with a few of those on the topic of little gods.

1: A Little God with an unusual, portable, shrine

I stopped scrapping my quartered onion into the pot, placing my cutting board down. Usually, an onion dropped into a metal pot made a 'chunk' sound, or even a 'splash' when I put the broth in first.
I gazed into the pot, and resting in the circle of light I had expected to find an onion was instead a small being. It's clothing was white like the onion, but its eyes were bulbous, also like an onion. Its skin at least was more fish-like, scaled and luminescent in the light framing its small body in the large metal pot. It glistened as it sat cross-legged in the pot, the broth lapping at its body.

"Whatcha want?" It looked up at me like a child staring at an inquisitive stranger.

"To ... to make my soup?" The surprise of finding a small fish man in my pot left me without my facilities for lying.

"Minestrone is going to need a better offering than an onion and weak broth for that miracle."

My broth was not weak, it had taken ages and bored me half to death to make.

"The recipe calls for tomatoes, garlic, and cracked pepper as well, will that suffice?"

"Toss it in and I'll tell you."

I continued the recipe, dumbfounded, as the small fish man gave me instructions from inside the pot. The heat didn't seem to bother it, and when the liquid began to cover its mouth, I could still hear its instructions. Finally, the recipe was done and I gazed into the pot.

A fishy hand rose out of the soup before reaching around to poke the surface. The finger returned to Minestrone's mouth beneath the soupy liquid - I dared not think how that could work.

"Needs a little more salt."
