I just remembered how as a teenager I would watch Doctor Who and my main takeaway, the main fantastical element that drew me to it was that if you travel with the doctor you get free room and board in an apparently quite comfortable travelling house. I remember thinking that if I was the doctor's companion I wouldn't leave to go on adventures where a squid monster would try to eat my legs or whatever, I'd just stay in the spare room and chill out. Yeah sure, on this planet it rains liquid rainbows. Very pretty. I'm sure it's great out there and that nothing is going to try and kill us. Have fun, I'll be in lounge catching up on my reading.
