i abso-fucking-lutely hate that every single goddamn browser out there sucks in some way and fucking qutebrowser is the best option after ungoogled-chromium. this fucking sucks!

i would love to switch to ff but for the love of god why do all modern apis either suck or are completely missing from firefox. is it really that hard to get PWAs working? does the fs api have to suck? do we really have to limit the usb/bt apis that much? is it that hard to get page transitions to work? like come on, are the fucking disney ads more important than not driving users away by being 5 years behind on web standards

in reply to @lexi's post:

i use linux, windows and occasionally macos (its complicated) but imho the best chromium variant is ungoogled-chromium. if im gonna use chromium, i might as well stick with the implementation that has the latest apis etc built into it. but sure, maybe one of them will change my mind :)

I would argue that Mozilla Foundation most likely does not have as many hands on deck as Chrome or able to just upstream chromium features to incorporate existing API or have time to work on their tech debt.

It is too caught up in attempting to keep itself from drowning from lack of money. Remember that in August 2020 they fired a good chunk of their engineers and now its development has slowed down considerably.
