Orange juice is very high in sugar, but the fruit can be an excellent snack in terms of nutrition, offering plenty of dietary fibre and micronutrients.

There is evidence of large-scale cultivation of oranges as far back as the 10th century, detailed by the irrigation required for large crops of the fruit.
