Thinking about the criticism of old forums about how it sucked that your entire social network depended on the hosts not being pissbabies throwing a temper tantrum.* Now that twitter is infamously at the whims of a pissbaby, and tumblr is apparently going through it's own terrible pissbaby arc, I feel like social media is reinventing that same dynamic but with an unhealthy amount of broader sociopolitical dread attached than before. One more Pyrrhic victory for old-school forums. :P
