all alone on a Sunday evening means yet another depressive episode, but at least this time around it's intervowen with the thoughs of how good Kamen Rider Black Sun's ending was
spoilers, obv
like how often do you get a fight against an unjust, fascist system that doesn't get resolved with taking down the big bad? Fucking, imagine, the Rebels in Star Wars blowing up the Death Star and killing the Emperor and it's just like yeah okay you got that, the whole system cared for this for about a news cycle. Couple of weeks later it turns out that yeah sure, you stopped one facet of the machine of evil but all the others either simply progressed on their course or learned the ways in which they shouldn't act so that they don't get killed by a bunch of anti-system radicals to a public applause
I mean sure yeah it's bleak shit but also it's incredible how in this year and age we can actually get a dumb ultraviolence gorefest that revels in its grit and edge and turns around to the camera and says "there is no end boss to fascism" but then also shows us that the resistance might have to take morally and ethically dubious or outright wrong forms. It's wild and I love it
