Anyway, this morning I just kinda zoned out and played Diablo 3 for several hours. Man that game just hits my brain perfectly. Really helps that there are no, like, in-game purchases at all. After the debacle of the ream money auction house at launch, they didn't wanna touch that shit. Well, until Immortal and 4, unfortunately.
Got my laundry going, and watched another set of Mobile Suit Gundam episodes (26-28). Finally getting to the fun underwater zeon suits, I love all of them. It's funny, in later Gundam shows, even in Zeta Gundam, I never root for the bad guys, but I find myself doing so in this one.
I guess it's that the dynamics are more of a regular saturday morning cartoon thing, where there are the invincible heroes who are never even close to being defeated, so the villains always feel like underdogs. I just wanna see them get a win, y'know. This habit goes way back to when I was a kid, rooting for monsters on Power Rangers or Mumm-ra the Ever-Living on Thundercats. Villains are more proactive, and they always lose... so much more relatable.
Part of it is that rooting for the villains in a show like this feels safe, becuase you know that they're never going to actually win. Especially on this show, where there's like a whole timeline with hundreds of hours of other shows that rely on it going a certain way. Also, the whole thing where the zeon soldiers are humanized makes it even easier to be on their side. I really want to see these guys get revenge for all their comrades that the Gundam keeps destroying.
