Heya! I'm Behemoth, and I'm a big ol' nerd. Professionally, I recently became a web developer, but I used to work at the Pike Place Market. FFXIV, JoJo, One Piece, Gundam, etc.

Well, I'm hope sick today, with some kinda stomach flu, so I did end up playing more FFVIIR2 (which is the acronym I will insist on using).

Got through Nibelheim, which I assume is what the demo was. It was pretty fun! Sephiroth felt appropriately overpowered in combat. It's funny, this does kinda slot in perfectly as a tutorial gameplay-wise, but it also makes for a terrible opening, narratively. I might've had like a short segment where you're travling to Kalm, but whatever. This whole thing is basically made with the assumption that the player is already familiar wtih the plot of FFVII.

Having played Crisis Core last summer, the whole flashback was also a lot of fun because like... Cloud is just Zack. He is acting exactly like Zack in that game, it's hilarious. And you can't help but notice that one conspicuous Shinra trooper wearing a scarf, who survives to hang around and witness all the most important events.

The thing I liked most about Crisis Core, and really enjoyed here, is just... Sephiroth being relatively normal. Because he still looks like a JRPG villain through and through, but he's just making little jokes and acting like a cool guy. It's so fun, especially since he kinda just disappears for like the entire rest of the story after this. I hope him actually appearing and being a character ends up being one of the alternate universe differences here.

Also: I love the card game. Queen's Blood is super fun. I can already see things getting wildly complicated down the line.
