Had a pretty good day at work, kind of bouncing from thing to thing, writing a lot of emails. It's weirdly something I'm very good at, which helps a lot with this job, but it always makes me feel like I didn't really get anything done.
Played some more Stranger of Paradise, I think I've gotten to the point where the game is actually going to force me to engage with its mechanics on a deeper level. Bosses are getting tougher, and even regular enemies are starting to pose more of a threat.
Last week I picked up another bullet heaven game, Halls of Torment. Although it's really more of a classic two-stick shooter, since you have to aim. I really love the aesthetics of it, strong Warcraft 1 vibes. This sort of crunchy pixelated art based on prerendered 3D assets is something that I always love, deeply, but don't see imitated very often.
Although, with that recent SaGa Frontier remake, this game, and the Mario RPG remake... maybe it's starting to make a comeback....
