Current wip, inverted detail.

Sometimes I’ll start spending a unreasonably long time switching a minor adjustment back and forth and back and forth because I can’t tell what it looks like anymore. I’ve been staring at it too long. When I get to that place I’ve started to add a new folder on top and just cramming it with different correction layers (inversions, wild gradient maps, etc.). I’ll just go crazy having fun fucking it up. A deep inhale of coffee beans in a candle store. When I turn all the new filters off, now I can see, ok this pink is fine, leave it alone or, sometimes, but usefully, oh. jesus. i need to fix some things.

It’s really helpful! Also it’s fun and refreshing to not treat the piece like it’s so precious. It’s not a fragile and precariously placed tchotchke! It’s a drawing! I made it and I’ll make more! So I need to loosen up and get a little bit silly with it.
