Like any creative property, Opportunity garners its share of seething vitriol. The most common complaints come either from people who don't like that it's a kinetic novel with no branching plotlines or from people who dislike that there are brown and trans people with large roles in the story (frequently both! There are also people with more well-considered critiques, whom I cherish.)

This is the first time I've seen someone object to... a straightforward description of the main character's age and caregiver status. Is that... is this a thing? Do a lot of people get mad about that these days?
