Here is Edward Bear, coming downstairs now, bump, bump, bump, on the back of his head, behind Christopher Robin. It is, as far as he knows, the only way of coming downstairs, but sometimes he feels that there really is another way, if only he could stop bumping for a moment and think of it.
And then he feels that perhaps there isn't. Anyhow, here he is at the bottom, and ready to be introduced to you. Winnie-the-Pooh.
This is going to be my celebration of the recently revived public domain. I'm going to be posting through the text of Winnie-the-Pooh on this side account, about one post per day.
I could have started this anytime, and in fact I did this in 2022 on Twitter. But now it's 2024, and Twitter is ruined, and a neat thing about it being 2024 is that I can keep going on to the second book (The House at Pooh Corner), the one that has Tigger in it, which just dropped into the public domain as well. And now that I'm on cohost, I can do typography and stuff.
Just so you know, there is nothing ironic about my appreciation of Winnie-the-Pooh. I have appreciated these stories for basically my entire conscious life. And now they belong to everyone.
