3rd-party mobile apps like Tweetbot and Fenix have been fucked into complete nonfunctionality and there's been zero communication from the big man or support or anything about it which makes me think that it's one of what is sure to be a mounting number of unintended consequences of gutting the staff of all the veteran devs who actually knew how everything worked. Pretty neat!

i typically try not to attribute to malice what could more easily be attributed to incompetence, and i definitely think musks skeleton crew is highly capable of accidentally breaking twitter's public api beyond repair........ but the possibility that they have a profit motive for enforcing a proprietary client is worth consideration i think lol
