New Galaxy Style for anyone wondering
Went outside to a community garden for my photography class today and my digital camera's flash card finally filled up with all my fancy RAWs and high quality JPEGs but I did have my 3DS on me (I like playing puzzle games on the bus and today was a Meteos kind of day, go Mekks!!) So I started shooting with that instead! I also had my phone camera which I used to take some more photos too but come on, this is more fun lol

Also a benefit of living in The Future is that now I have applications that can open all those mysterious MPO files that generate in the console's DCIM folders. They actually look really cool! I hid the anaglyph photo under the "read more" just in case of eye strain, check it out below! 🟥🟦🌸

just found out the 3DS lets you change the brightness in DS games??? How have I gone so long without ever hearing about this, I've always had to just deal with it or reset the game

To change the settings you need to press the home button, and on the little "return to the home menu?" screen hold START and press...

  • ⬆️increase brightness
  • ⬇️decrease brightness
  • ➡️turn on power saving mode
  • ⬅️turn off power saving mode

it's really great that you're able to do this but how did anyone even find out about this feature? I'd imagine button mashing would work eventually but it's wild that I've never heard about this for years by anyone online and especially not from the console itself. Maybe it was buried in the user manual somewhere...

I keep staring at this and thinking about how my character with 4 arms would look holding the controller like this and it's hitting me that you need 2 left hands to properly hold the N64 controller. If you have two right hands that's not gonna work quite right, even if one of those grips the middle bit, so it's clear to me the N64 controller was designed for people with one regular pair of hands and at least one extra left one.
