It’s crazy how far back muscle memory remembers, huh?
The last time I seriously drew Sonic was 2011, and it was eerily easy to draw him despite it being 6 years later. Well, his face and head anyways. Once I got to his body things started to fall apart, because my newer anatomy skills overwrote things a bit. My subconscious really wanted to give him semi-realistic human legs, ahaha.

Like a month ago now, (this drawing got stuck in WIP limbo for a little bit,) I was going through my old journals. My journals are like part sketchbook and part diary, so they were packed with drawings. I found one of Sonic in a cool pose. It fell a bit flat, but I saw so much potential in it.
It’s funny, in the journal entry this drawing was a part of, past me commented that she really didn’t like the pose. Modern me saw it and said, “Great idea, poor execution. Let’s fix that.” Lines of action work wonders.
I still wish I could send my art back in time. Young me would love to see the redraws I do.
