Well, this started as a shitpost, but it ended up becoming a ~10 hour piece that I took very seriously.
It was originally going to be the knife cat meme. Y’know, the one with someone pointing a knife at a smug looking cat. Sandra makes me think of that meme a lot.
I haven’t even finished Pyre’s campaign yet, I spent much more time on this, haha.
Every time I do soft shading I’m so torn between, “This is fun and it looks cool,” and, “It takes five years and doesn’t always go with my art style in some places.”
Getting used to Clip Studio’s watercolor brushes was wild. I’m very not used to my brush being able to smear “paint” that I’ve already placed. I’m also not used to the direction of my brush strokes mattering, but it does when you need to be concerned about which direction your paint’s going to blend.
Also I included the dark version because at one point I turned off my flat color layer and went, “Goddamn, that looks cool.”
Overall, I’m really pleased with how this came out. I love drawing glowy things so much! :D
