Original Description:

I was thinking about couples with height differences as I do, and thought about how both of these two are stupidly tall. Then I realized… oh shit… I can stack them. Which then led to the inevitable. RIP Dayne’s skull. Rayner’s absolutely fine though, he’s fallen off several story buildings before. :)

I’ve been trying to draw my OCs in more outfits lately instead of their defaults all the time, since I have a bad habit of trying to be on-model with my characters 24/7 and gravitate to “default” designs like a meteor on a collision course with a sun.

Dayne plays around with hair dye a lot since his hair grows so friggin fast, so mistakes or bad colors don’t last long. Also, I have a weakness for brown hair with blonde bangs…
Meanwhile, Rayner really likes to wear pastels most of the time, and he doesn’t get why humans sometimes give him grief for wearing pink or “girly” shirts. Silly biologicals and their tendency to try and force individuals who just happen look more like one gender than the other into a narrow set of rules on how to present themselves, amirite?

I don’t think I’ve mentioned this anywhere yet, but despite using he/him pronouns and other typically masculine labels, Rayner doesn’t associate with any gender. He just got used to being called “he” because that’s what most people assume (mostly because of his voice), but he doesn’t mind being called other pronouns or labels.

Lastly, I don’t know why I never thought to use 3D assets for text effects before this point, but looks pretty good! :0 Also that second panel is exactly the kind of scenario I 3D modeled references of Rayner’s legs for. I would drop dead if I tried to draw this without them, hahaa… I’m really not good at imagining 3D shapes and then directly flattening them into a 2D space…
