An instrument with violin pegs and a guitar sound hole (I think it's supposed to be a lute) sits when the bird-person's hear should be. A paintbrush that seems to be attached by a bendy tube to a sound hole of the lute is being used along with the paint and light to paint birds which appear to be flying off the canvas as they are completed
